Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the famous Italian architect, worked during his career for a rather important pope, Urban VIII. This pope was a great patron of the Barberini family and during his pontificate art was the means used to express and manifest the noble rank of the papal family. The Fountain of Bees was created in the 17th century which was originally located on the corner of Piazza Barberini and Via Sistina was relocated to Via Veneto in a Recovery and Restoration project conducted by the city of Rome.
The Pen has a Solid 18k Gold Body with Mother of Pearl Inlay.
The included Fountain of Bees Crystal display is infused with 18k gold flakes and the Bees are solid 18k gold.
